Come and visit us at the Jacinto City Branch Library, part of the Harris County Public Library (HCPL) system! The library regularly holds Storytimes for babies and preschoolers, free tech help, ESL and Citizenship classes for the public, as well as other programs to help meet the informational, educational, and recreational needs of the community. The Jacinto City Branch Library also has a meeting available for use by community groups and nonprofits when not in use for library programming, at no cost.

Feel free to like the Jacinto City Library’s Facebook page and follow us on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date on our events.

The Friends of the Jacinto City Branch Library sponsor multiple ongoing fundraisers for the library. All funds go towards supporting library programming. Please visit the library for more information.

Jacinto City Branch Library is a cooperative effort between the City of Jacinto City and Harris County. The city built and maintains the facility, while HCPL furnishes staff and materials. This cooperative agreement started in 1957, when a local resident, Mrs. Dorothy Bowyer, spearheaded the effort to obtain a library for Jacinto City. Mrs. Bowyer also served as the Branch Librarian until she retired in 1989. The current building was built in 1992, as a memorial to former Jacinto City mayor Albert “Bert” Holder, to replace the original which still stands on Mercury Drive.
