The director of Public Works is responsible for several essential services within the city including, Water Treatment & Distribution, Sewer Collection & Treatment, Streets, Drainage, Animal Control, Traffic Lights, Fleet Services and Mosquito Control.  He is responsible for compliance with a multitude of state and federal regulations.

Kyle Reed holds a B certification in surface water treatment as well as ground water and sewer treatment. He maintains his credentials by attending various courses at Texas A&M Engineering and Extension Service. Kyle has an extensive background in public infrastructure with special emphasis on road & bridge construction, water & sewer line rehabilitation and sewer plant rehabilitation. He was hired as the Director of Public Works in 1997.
